The staff of GasanMamo Insurance welcomed an appeal from the food bank in Old Bakery Street, Valletta to help people in need by donating and providing food items for families temporarily facing crisis. This January, an article on a local newspaper had reported that the food bank in Old Bakery Street, Valletta was risking closure as its supplies were drying out, and the volunteers running this place were appealing for assistance. The employees at GasanMamo met this request and contributed by buying food items.
“There are people and families in Malta that struggle with hunger and when we read about this story, we felt that it is our duty to give a helping hand to the Valletta foodbank. Assisting communities in times of need is core to our company’s mission and we are pleased to support this initiative and help the foodbank to fight hunger”, said Vanessa Portelli, General Manager at GasanMamo Insurance.
Thanks to this initiative, the employees at GasanMamo Insurance, with the support of its management, are fulfilling the company’s social responsibility objectives in alleviating food poverty among families and children in need. Mario Farrugia, HR Senior Manager at GasanMamo Insurance, had words of praise at the commitment shown by the company’s employees and added that “we are proud of the positive response we receive from our staff when such initiatives are proposed.”
