Become a key player in our young and energetic Health Department! In this senior role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the fair and timely assessment of health insurance claims, mentoring junior claim handlers, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our claims processing procedures.   • Conduct thorough reviews and evaluations of health insurance claims to determine validity and coverage.
  • Liaising with healthcare providers.
  • Authorising direct settlements.
  • Generating statistical reports on claims figures and other data.
  • Liaising with foreign hospitals at claims stage.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve claim inquiries and disputes.
  • Make informed decisions on claim approvals or denials, ensuring compliance with policy terms and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvement in claims processing and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior claim handlers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum two years of experience within a Health Claims department however, experience in other classes of insurance will be considered
  • Possess a qualification in either insurance, business, finance, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, strong attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of the Maltese language would be an asset.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Leadership skills
