Insurance Data Analyst

We are looking to recruit an Insurance Data Analyst to join our Risk and Management Information team. This role would be suited to someone who has excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop analytical tools and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Using data analysis and visualization tools to analyse data and provide insights on market trends, claims, premiums, loss ratios, and other key performance indicators.
  • Preparing reports and presentations to effectively communicate analytical findings.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of data quality checks and controls to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Participating in all aspects of the data lifecycle, including data cleaning, data analysis, and data visualization.
  • Assisting /training users in the use of data query, analysis and reporting tools.
  • Preparing and assessing of ad-hoc analytical reports or data enrichment tasks as required.
  • Gathering, transforming, loading, analysing and reconciling insurance data required for Solvency II and IFRS 17 reporting.
  • Working with the Solvency II reporting team to prepare the Solvency II Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRT) on a quarterly/annual basis.
  • Working closely with different teams internally and ensure all data is loaded, reconciled, and compiled for each reporting cycle with emphasis on data quality and accuracy.
  • Undertaking analytical duties related to compliance by the insurance licence holders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree level of Education – A qualification in either of the following: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business and Computing, Insurance, Actuarial or Data Analysis.
  • Previous experience gained in a data analyst role in the insurance or reinsurance industry would be considered an asset.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinker.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while also demonstrating strong independence.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Knowledge of business analytics solutions / SQL / ETL tools
