GasanMamo Insurance Renew MRFU Sponsorship

GasanMamo Insurance has announced the renewal of a sponsorship agreement for the next three years with the Malta Rugby Football Union (MRFU) with a focus on youth rugby.
This sponsorship is the second three-year agreement with the Malta Rugby Football Union (MRFU) which expired this year.
“At GasanMamo Insurance, we believe in helping youth develop through sports. We have supported the MRFU for the past three years during which we witnessed the introduction of rugby to young children in Malta. Rugby has now become familiar with Maltese children but we are committed in making this sport a mainstream sport in Malta. This extension of agreement will definitely achieve this goal,” said Julian J Mamo, Director at GasanMamo Insurance.
“On a general note, we are also celebrating the Malta Rugby Football Union’s determination and the vibrancy with which it is gaining international recognition by committing ourselves as a main sponsor for the next three years.”
The MRFU’s Youth Rugby Programme features a youth league between the youth clubs Alligators, Sharks, Kavallieri, Falcons and Stompers which is played at the Marsa Sports Ground on Saturdays and Sundays and Touch Rugby and Tag Rugby tournaments for Secondary and Primary Schools respectively, played at Marsa Sports Ground or St Aloysious College.
Touch rugby is a fast moving, minimal contact, evasive game that is played throughout the world by men and women of all ages and skill levels. This fast, simple and exciting game promotes the fundamental skills of running, handling, evasion and support play, whilst developing basic principles of attack and defence, without the fear of getting hurt.
Tag rugby is suitable for boys and girls and played between teams of eight players within a 40m x 25m area. The object of the game is to run with the ball or pass the ball to a team mate to score a try by placing the ball with downward pressure on the ground behind the opponents’ goal line.
MRFU President Martin Galea thanked GasanMamo Insurance Ltd. for its support, pointing out that this extension of agreement allowed MRFU to reinforce its strategy over a sound to improve awareness of the game and the standard of all its players.
